Climate change is an issue affecting us all.

In Cricklade we have “Cricklade Climate Action Network” or CCAN for short, which can be viewed on Facebook who are affiliated with Climate Action Network (CAN) which is the world’s largest climate network made up of more than 1,900 civil society organisations in over 130 countries, together fighting the climate crisis.

Cricklade Town Council has contributed to reversing the effects of global climate change by:

1. Implementation of LED street lights

2. 8 x BP electric car recharging sites installed in car parks around Cricklade

3. Planting and enlarging of the Millennium Wood.

4. Recycling point for batteries, ink cartridges, mobile phones and light bulbs

5. Using utility companies that have good green credentials

6. Providing allotments

7. Attending Wiltshire Council climate awareness training sessions

8. Replacing two central heating boilers at Ockwells with a single high efficiency unit

9. Installation of cycle racks at four additional locations in the town centre

10. Installation of sensor led lighting in Ockwells Council Building.
